RICHMOND & ZETLAND HARRIERS 19/11/18

Richmond and Zetland Harriers
IT WAS ANOTHER good week of racing and competing for Richmond and Zetlands Harriers, from Bolton Abbey, Derby, the Chilterns, Goathland, Dalby and York they were to be found.

Kimberley and Leon Reeve took on the Bolton Abbey 10 miler and 10km that included a few hills at the start of the race for a warm up. Leon ran the 10km and finished in 13th (50:13, 4th V40) but was it was wife Kimberley, who the ran the longer 10 miles race with a great run in 19th and the 1st lady (1:30:22).

Rob Lickley took on the Dalby Dash 10km and finished well in 56th (42:44). Dan Upton was another, who produced a fine performance in the British Masters Hammer Decathlon placing in 2nd overall, which required 10 throws of different weights and types of hammer (including solid handle hammers). Over at the Chiltern League Teardrops Cross Challenge, Kyle Rabjohn produced another great run and was awarded 4th in the U15 race (in a photo finish by a short neck).

The final results came in for the York 5km series, with Reece Dalton taking the title by nearly 4 minutes from the accumulated 5 races ahead of his nearest competitor, but it was also a podium finish from Steve Middleton who took 3rd and the Veteran 40 prize in the process. One of the runs of the weekend was from Rachel Ross-Russell, who ran the Goathland Marathon, part of the exhausting Hardmoors series and took the ladies victory on the 27.5 mile course (04:34:05).

At Darlington parkrun Nicki Buckett was 203rd (29:06). Carl Jones was the 2nd finisher (16:26) and Joe Reeve was 6th at Catterick parkrun (19:15, pb), Leon Reeve in 10th (19:33), Garry Malton in 20th (21:37) and Ian Hepworth in 57th (25:56). Steve Middleton toured Northern Ireland and took on Ormeau Park, parkrun and was the 1st finisher (17:07). At Northallerton junior parkrun, Sam Archer was the 1st finisher (08:31) and Olivia Jackson-Bowers was 5th and the 1st girl (09:44).
