RICHMOND & ZETLAND HARRIERS 4/2/2020

Richmond & Zetland Harriers

IT WAS ANOTHER WEEK of high class competition for Richmond's athletes, with Scottish championships, the North East Masters cross country, Dewsbury 10k and a whole host of local park runs.

Dan Upton travelled north of the border to the Scottish Masters competition, held at the Emirates stadium in Glasgow. It was another excellent competition from Dan, who finished in 2nd with a throw of 11.97 in the shot put.

Fiona Wilson and Pauline Whittaker took to the start line for the North East Masters cross country championships, with a rather undulating course punctuated with some severe gusts especially on the way up the hills! The ladies had great runs over the 6km course with Fiona finishing in 45th place and the 9th V45 just pipping Pauline in 46th and the 8th V50.

The Dewsbury 10km is well known as a great course for producing new PBs and it was to be once again with Josh Lincoln smashing his PB over the course (35:19 pb).

At Catterick parkrun Joseph Smith was 6th (20:28), Nicola Simpson was 16th and the 1st lady (21:01), Elly Robertson (24:58) and Ian Hepworth was 66th (27:30). Ollie Middleton was 12th (22:13) and the 1st junior at Northallerton parkrun (22:13 pb) smashing his parkrun pb. Tom O’Mahoney was an excellent 2nd at Darlington parkrun (17:46).

At Northallerton junior parkrun, Matilda Ellis was the 1st finisher overall (08:46), Kiki Fletcher was 9th and the 8th girl (10:21) and Abbie Wilkin was 10th and the 9th girl (10:42).
