Harriers at the Top
Marc Scott took on the best of the UK’s athletes at the British Championships and as usual the Richmond and Zetland vest was prominent at the front of the pack during the race. Marc was on the pace and was part of the pack of 4 that broke away with 4 laps to go. When the pace started to wind up, Andrew Buchart then kicked with 3 laps to go and left the rest in his wake, with Andrew Vernon, Ben Connor and Marc left behind. It then became a race for the minor places, but after Marc's exploits last week-end at the European team championships, it may have been a race too far after a long season which culminated in the NCAA title last month in the States. Marc finished in 4th place which is still extremely impressive given the company he was in and it should be noted that he was the youngest of these 4 by a number of years. Marc actually has the best times of any of these athletes at the same stage of their development.
