The Tom Wall relays which are the precursor to the start of the cross country season are held at Stewarts Park, near Middlesborough with Richmond and Zetland defending both their mens and womens titles from last season. Richmond assembled a very strong select squad of runners with just one mens and womens team taken. The mens team of Liam Rabjohn, Reece Dalton, Luke Hack and Rob Scott again retained their title by 9 seconds from Mandale. Also the ladies team of Jo Adams, Donna Riddler, Chloe Dalton and anchor Shona Fletcher also retained their title but by quite a margin, in over a minute from Darlingtons ladies team.
