This week Richmond and Zetlands athletes took on the DT40 trail race over hill and bog, school fell racing championships, parkruns, trail 10 milers and 10k’s and even a spot of relay running for the start of the cross country season.

The DT40 is a trail race run over the marathon distance and with over 3000 ft of ascent near Semerwater and with a large number of our athletes represented, it was always going to be a very competitive race. Tony Lambert was our first runner to finish in 5th and the 2nd V40 runner (3:33:45), with Julian Simpson in 8th (3:52:47) and the 3rd V40 runner, next was Steve Sadler in 12th and the top V50 runner (04:05:00), Rachel Ross-Russell in 21st, the 3rd lady and the top V40 lady (04:27:44) and Simon Withers in a very respectful 45th (04:55:41).
