STUNNING RUNS AT SHEFFIELD AND STOCKTON 22/11/17

Stunning Runs at Sheffield and Stockton

This week Richmond and Zetland Harriers had everything from indoors on the track, to muddy cross countries and even the odd park run thrown in. Kyle Rabjohn took the relatively short trip to Sheffield Hallam and the English Institute of Sport to run in the U15 Northern 1000m championship race. Kyle delivered once again and took the title (02:53). Another new venue was added to the cross country calendar this year with Preston Park just outside Yarm holding the cross country this week.

Ollie Middleton was first on the course in the U11 boys race and had another solid performance to finish 14th and Olivia Briggs with another good run in 18th in her race in the girls U11 group. In the U13 boys race, Josh Hammett took top honours, Tom O’Mahoney just behind in a very close 2nd, with good performances from Matthew Cole in 5th, Dominic Wilford in 6th, with Lucas Holmes in 14th and Thomas Greer in a solid 15th. This gave the U13 boys squad a comfortable team win. The U13 girls had some great performances with Holly McCowie in 6th and Alana Teasdale in 7th. Kyle Rabjohn produced another fantastic run to take 1st in the U15 boys race, Charlie Stephenson had another top run in 2nd, Daniel Francis was another in good form in 4th and George McCowie ran well in 14th. These results gave them another team win. Emily Francis was a good 12th in the U15 girls race.

In the U17 boys race Will Smith was 4th, an excellent run from Dylan Soley in 8th, Jake Stephenson in 11th, Sam Kettlewell in 12th and Lewis Moore not far behind in 14th. This gave the team 2nd place. In the senior ladies race the squad was bolstered by the returning Jo Adams who had a very pleasing run in 2nd, she was followed by another runner who had been absent for a few races and Shona Fletcher was 5th (1st V35), Rebecca Simpson also on her first outing this year was a very good 10th (2nd V40), Laura Kirkham had a good run in 16th (2nd U20), Stephanie Stephenson was 23rd and another good performance, she was followed by Chloe Dalton running well in 24th (2nd U17), Pauline Whittaker was 42nd, followed by the ever improving Kiska Wilson in 43rd, Vicki Smith was a decent 48th, Nicki Buckett had a good run in 70th and Diane Adkins running well in 91st. These results gave the ladies squad the team victory.

In the senior mens race the inform Rob Scott was 3rd, Scott Wardman with another good run in 9th, Reece Dalton was 11th (2nd U20), Carl Jones in his first outing for the season was 24th, Ken Harker in 26th (3rd V45), Julian Simpson was 38th, then it was Steve Middleton in 76th, Anthony Jefford in a very good 107th, Mark Fletcher in 145th and Ryan Greer with another excellent run in 174th. These combined results gave the mens squad the team victory. The club Chairman had obviously warmed up from last weeks cross country as he was only wearing hat, gloves and 3 shirts instead of the 5 from last week.

At Catterick parkrun Dave Hack was 2nd (18:28), Ryan Greer was 36th another with another new pb (24:18, pb), Tyler Wilson in 77th (29:05), Karen Greer in 90th (30:27) and Melody and Kiska Wilson in 136th and 137th (both 41:44). Lee Davies took top honours at Darlington parkrun in 1st and smashing his pb in the process (17:55, pb) and Ken Harker was 3rd (18:32). Katie Middleton was 54th (35:30) and Shona Fletcher 55th (35:30) at Northallerton parkrun.
