RICHMOND & ZETLAND HARRIERS 16/10/18
week's report
Richmond and Zetland Harriers
THERE WERE SOME incredible performances this week from Richmond's athletes in both the junior and senior sections. With races from Cardiff, Birmingham, Richmond, Manchester, London, parkrun take over at Catterick and considerably closer to home in York.
Kyle Rabjohn was in action at the Cardiff cross country challenge, which is the first in the British athletics cross country challenge series, in which many of the top British athletes use to gauge their form ahead of the selection trials to be held in Liverpool later in the year. The course even included a tree trunk to vault. Kyle used his knowledge of running over fences in the U15 race to move away from the field after the opening exchanges to sprint clear from the pack in the final furlong to take the win!
A number of athletes took to the half marathon distance this week with Charlotte Wilton running well at the Royal Parks Half Marathon (1:36:01) and Lucy Verrill having a great run and finish at the Manchester half marathon (1:34:20). Graham Wilson ran his first ever half marathon, with wife Fiona pacing him round and they finished in 5946th and 5947th (both 02:21:56).
